Bishops House - Bishops' House is the best preserved timber–framed house in Sheffield. It was built around 1500 and is tucked away at the top of Meersbrook Park. Bishops' House typifies the development of the smaller English domestic house in the 16th and 17th centuries.

Broomhill, Sheffield - A well put together site, very informative, whether you're a local or a student - this site will let you get to grips with what's going on in this popular district.

Dore Village, Sheffield - Dore village was part of Derbyshire until 1934, when it became a suburb of South West Sheffield, much to the chagrin of some locals... Active and very informative site, for Dore, has history pages, what's on etc. Good site.

Dronfield, Sheffield - Loads of links to everything about the place, plus a brief history of Dronfield, (look at the links on the left hand side). Dronfield is a small town on the outskirts of Sheffield.

Sheffield Flood: The Great Sheffield Flood Of 1864 - The first to drown was a two-day-old baby boy, the oldest a woman of eighty-seven. Whole families were wiped out; one desperate man, trapped upstairs in a terrace house, battered his way through five party walls to safety collecting thirty-four other people as he went; a would be suicide, locked in a cell, decided, as the flood poured in, that he no longer wished to die; one poor old man drowned alongside his sleeping companion - a donkey; a husband put his wife and five children on a bed on which they floated until the water went down.'... Wardsend Cemetery - Neglected for many years, there is a dedicated band of folks trying to get this very historic Sheffield cemetary back to some of its formative glory... Its reputed to be the only cemetery in England - with a train line running through it!
