El Caminito del Rey (The Kings Path) is a walkway in deep disrepair,
attached to the steep walls of a narrow gorge in El Chorro, near Alora in
Spain. Many years have now gone by without any maintenance, leaving it in a
very dangerous state. Some of the walkway has completely disappeared
and been replaced by beams metal wires on the walls. People have lost lives
on the walkway. Four died in two accidents in 1999 and 2000, so the local
government closed it off. But the adventurous still find their way onto the
walkway.
